Ive been involved in a project swapping tags, backgrounds/journal pages during the year..Ive been doing this with some lovely ladies from all corners of the globe..Now all the pages and tags have been sent ,Ive put a tag journal together. Above is my cover and Ive used one of the tags sent to hang on the ring

the colours matched so well.

All the journal pages, backgrounds and tags were done at different times and none knew what anyone else was doing ,yet now its all come together amazingly the tags were able to matched up with the pages..... Enjoy the pages below.

I have been making soul collage cards for over a year now..they are the invention of Seena Frost who has written a book on soul collage.

I wanted to share with you some of the cards I have made for myself...

The soul collage cards represent all different aspects of the self, including different parts of the personality, support system, animal guides and archetypes opperating in yourself.

It is a most satisfying and interesting process, Using images for magazines and books, as well as art work .... You just create the cards when you feel the need and they become part of your deck..

I have around 40 in mine and its taken over a year to do them all.

Once the cards are made..you use them in many different ways. To divine with, to gain guidence with issues, you can use them to inspire other art work and writing..you can choose one daily and seek its message for you that day.You can also use them as a staring point to explore your personality....

I will share some more with you soon...

I run a group with a few ladies and we swap soul collage cards and these gift card become part of your deck too

Went to London for the week end for my birthday..had a great time. we stayed in a hotel 100 m fron the London tower bridge ( below)

The bridge looks fab lit up at night.

We also went on the London eye..... we were lucky to get a sunny day..

Hi If any one who follows my blog would like to join in with the Creative journey project here is what to do!!
first create x6 backgrounds on postcard size card...Then follow the following steps

1 add some red,blue or gold to your backgrounds..any way you like

2 add either button/s, ribbon or lace

3 add some background stamping either text,a patteren or a flourish

4 Add a vintage image either , people, a child or a flower.

5 add some texture to your art, or an inchie oe 3d embossing

6 add a ppostage stamp or a mimi postcard, or tag/s

7 add metalic paper, a metal button or a metal charm

8 add a quote, a word or a number

9 add glitter, beads or gems

10 add a die cut or punched shape,fibers, or do some pen work ie doodles or journalling..

when your done ...please email for my address to send the pages to be swapped please send x2 large stamps for your return with an addressed envelope

Todays page is lettering.. I created the page using a new idea I saw in the craft stamper...you put different prompts on little 1" square blocks..I made a 14 of them...you then put the blocks into a bag and choose 3 or 4 at random and roll them and see what comes up...... if you feel you need to pick out more you can...you then use the prompt to get you started..you can always add anything else you wnat as well!
for this page I picked out...flowers as a theme the colours cream and red , use alcohol inks which I did on the piece of plastic I made the vase from and the last one sais use postage stamps...Im really pleased with the result

if you want to make some blocks you can buy a 1" by 1" strip of wood from a DIY shop.. you will need to cut it up into squares then you then cover the blocks in paper and write on the different propmpts, these should include, colours, techniques,themes, styles and embellishments..
Have a go its great fun and really great for getting past those artistic blocks lol and you can use them over and over again as each time you will get different combinations..you can always add more blocks too at any time

Hi Back to art everyday.... today I decided to make an archetype card for my soul collage deck..and for some reason I felt I needed to do the death card... The death card signifies change and transformation..and a soul collage deck cannot be complete without this card..
I put the butterfly on the card as it to transforms completely from one thing to another always to something mor beautiful.......The white light is where death takes you when your time has come( having had a near death experience I know this...) but also when it is time for a change a light will show you the way. The stone wall corridor towards the light represents the journey from one place to another. I feel better having made this card and Im now wondering what change will come my way..

Day 10...today Ive created a decorated envelope and its going to be sent to my friend Gina in the states..its a recycled envelope you can see the old stamp in the corner!!. I created it by layering with gesso first and the adding some liquid ink and spreading it out with an old credit card. I then added acrylic paint and did the same, I then filled in the gaps with water soluble wax pastels and
to finish off I stamped over the top using gesso on the stamp and with a flower stamp using stazon ink.. I think that would give the postman someting to talk about!!

Day 6 had some fun with this background.......Stick down some pictues from a magazine and then add some liquid ink and spread out with a credit card, be sure to leave some white areas.
Then add some black stamped images. Next add some acrylic paint and spread out,again using the credit card. Then roughly draw some circles with with some gesso and then press a piece of scrap paper on the top to spread out the paint.
then using a circle stencil and gesso create some circles, you can also draw some circle shapes with a white crayon too...

Todays art is a shabby chic...luggage label..shabby chic is messy,grubby and tatty looking like its been around for a long time!! I love this look, hope you do too
The label is created with torn papers that have been aged using distress ink plus..fibers muslin fabric, cut up ribbon, lace and there is a safety pin with fibers ect tied in it too..

Hello...Today I will begin a journey through art, altered book project. I found an old art book in a charity shop and I decided to alter it into a new book of my own. I will remove the pages and alter them one at a time. The images I use will be from the book only, together with mixed media materials.
Todays frount page is created with gesso , acrylics,wax pastels sand paper, and a black ink pad.

Just created these backgounds with a few scraps ,some inks and gesso. I was inspired by some of the backgound papers they sell at crafty individuals site! below is how I did it first, stick on scraps of paper all over the atc

next, when the glue is dry , use sand paper lightly and scrub away some of the pattern and around the edges, then add some brown ink and another colour or two

next add a couple of stamped images in black, with one or two, press really lightly so only part of the image comes out

Lastly, choose a simple stamp and apply some gesso with your finger to the stamp surface and stamp once over atc wipe stamp immediately with a baby wipe and get iot completely clean. white acrylic paint will also work Have fun!!!

I have recently been doing some soul collage cards these were first thought up by a lady called Sheena Frost My first card is a totem card the fish bieng picese Im drawn to the fish and the sea. my second card is the mother ,its a very improtant and rewarding role for me in my life and my own mother is very special!!

My third card is the gypsy this is a archetype card and I love what the gypsy stands for and strive to be more gypsy like in my life!!

These are some atcs Ive done using acrylic medium transfere. The ones with the lady images and the little girl with the dog are inkjet printer images. The other two which are unfinnished and are just backgrounds are from magazine images, one with some green fabric in the background The other is of ayres rock, the black images are stamped on top with ink. Simple to do, just apply acrylic transfere to the image and place face down onto your atc and dampen with a baby wipe. Then leave to dry and then re dampen and gently rub from the center in a circular motion and keep working on it until the paper layer has come away you may need to re dampen as you go along. I will say it does take I bit of practice and you may get mixed results. I always finish off with a coat of varnish or another layer of acrylic medium to protect it.

I made it by covering all the words and bits I didnt need with gesso first, then I added colour and stamped image on, I then put on paper bird picture and added the word secrect before embellishing. Hope you like it.!!

Hello Ive done the last 2 sets of inchies and mounted them all on a board, I managed to fit most of it all on I hope you like the effect as much as I do. AS you can see, I've put the word achieveable in amongst the pictures.

The last set of inchies a stamping project.

I decided to do a set of inchies using a 10 letter word. I chose achieveable, seemed fitting for the project.

Todays inchies were done by applying yellow ink to the inchie then punching a hole in a piece of paper and then placing it over the inchie and applying a different colour ink and then stamping an image in black.
I then used the circle of paper I had cut out with the punch and covered the center image and printed a different image ,in either black or red.

I thought I would share a little challenge Ive set for myself. To create 100 inches in 10 days.
Im going to make 10 inches per day, each 10 will form a little set of its own , but when the project is done, Im going to mount the inches altogether. Ive seen this done before and all those inches togher look great!!!
here is the first set of 10. All inches are stamped some have images and all have words I cur from an old book.

My book is called Past times with a Tim Holtz feel to it . Ive been involved in doing a journal circle since November last year. There were 9 of us in the group and we all had to do a page in each others journals using a stamp each person had posted with their journal.
My journal is called sunny stories and I send a sunshine stamp with my journal.
I just absolutely love every page. Thank you to Mima, Heather,Sandra, and Paula( when hers arrives) in the uk and to Martha,Karen Elena and Tracy in the usa
I so enjoyed the project.
What fun journalling is I would recommend it to any one to give it a try!!!!

today I've been having a go at getting my head around zetti. These are two pages I have done for a journal group I am in and apart from one other project, these are my first attempts at zetti. I feel Im going to learn more as I go along, which is what you do with art isn't it!!!!! I have found them very enjoyable to do
and I can see they are going to be addictive!!!!!

Hello,
This morning Ive created 4 6"x4" cards for a 'so surreal' swap
I Created my own backgrounds using inks, then stamped up some circles for the worlds and added figures( the rugby palyer is a transparency).
I then took a scan of the card and then reproduced it but much smaller and placed on the card to finish it off.

Hi Ive been creating backgrounds today. When I need a bit of inspiration I quite often get one of my books off the shelf and stift through for ideas. This collection of backgrounds was inspired by a book I have about interior designer Caroline Quartermaine. She uses a combimation of the old and worn with beautiful contemporary colours and gold.
All the backgrounds apart for the first,which is a collage with inked and stamped paper ,were made with inks and embossing powders. If you click on image to enlarge you will see the details better.

Some atcs Ive done this month for future swaps Acollage one and a stamping project. Thats what Im into at the moment!!!

A collection of ATC quarters which will be swapped and then put together to a make one complete ATC

The backgrounds are inked then stamped and images added on top then embellished, Its quite a challenge to work on a smaller space

Im doing a new project. A coffee table book called Paraphernalia. Its done using a chils board book

The pages will be all done by me but the themes of the pages will be chosen by the other ladies in the swap, The project will take 4 months to complete

Here are the back and frount cover, Ive done them in a collage style I thought it suited this swap

I will be adding some labels depecting the different themes in the book and attatching them to the frount cover at the end

will post pictures as I do them so look out for them in the coming weeks

This is an altered cabinate card Ive done form my Aunt. She loves all things old.
Ive used tripple embossing in the bottom corner, stamping with stazon in the top right hand corner and paper collage on the left.
At the bottom is an altered jigsaw piece which is simply stamped and embellished.
The young woman in the picture is thinking of the love she has for her Family. Im hopeing to do an altered cabinate card each month over the next few months so look out for them!!

Hear are my final two hands for the creative hands swap

I really enjoyed working on the hand shape it was a bit different.

When all the hands are if for the swap I will be making a book of them attatching the hands at the wrist

I think it will be real special as all the hands will be different sizes and shapes, as well all are LOL!!!

This is a page I've done for a journal circle I'm in . It's for Tracy who lives in the USA. The keys are her stamp and Ive incorporated them into my page This is the other page for Tracy. Ive used the stamp on shrink plastic to create some minature embellishments, The rest of the project is just done with Inks and stamps. I love the way all the images blend together. These are some house shaped book pages for 'the sum of all atcs' group.

They will be sent to the USA and swapped out with other players houses.

The houses are approx 1 1/2 times the size of an ATC.

I've done them in a collage style, covering first in a decorative paper then adding stamping and inks then lastly some images and embellishments.

I will be adding some fibers to put through the holes at the top where the ring holds the pages together.

Im In a journal circle with 8 other ladies from the UK and USA. It began last November and will be due to finish in the autumn . Here is two pages Ive done over the weekend for Karen in the group. We all have to send a stamp around with our journals to use on the pages. Karens stamp is to do with Time. Both Pages are done in a collage style, a technique I'm developing at the moment

This atc is for a gypsy swap I love gypsy cards Vadoma means 'to know'!! the page I've done for a chunkybook 'In my Boudoir'

Both pages are made from Fabric. The images are printed on hand made paper and then glued on.

The second side has a layer of chiffon with pockets sewn in to hold various embellishments, they are free to move around in the pocket.

The pages for the book will be sprayed with perfume to finish them off!!

Hi Ive been working on these pages for a chunky book called In my Garden
Ive really enjoyed working on these, It brightens up your day with this dreary English weather!!!!
All the pages are made with a napkin as the background and Ive them added images and stamping to decorate and finished off with embellishments

Here is my first post......

This is an example of one of my lastest pieces of art from my factory!

I have titled this work 'Oceanic Palm'. It is a template of my hand which will be used in 'creative hands swap', organised via 'Thesumofallatcs' swap group.

This swap has been made using tissue paper, inks, stamps and pen work including the use of gold leaf pen. I have used mirco beads, glitter and fibres to embellish.
